Dam Practise

Super short post. We went to Somerset Dam with a few families and had a great time. It was our first time setting up all on our own. Everything went perfectly except for the fact that the projecta battery thingy kept flashing (don’t know why) and I couldn’t figure out how to turn the lights on. Turns out swearing at them wasn’t the solution. We called the previous owners and found out there’s a special switch near the normal switch. I don’t remember turning it off or anything …. who knows. Then there was the fact the water seemed to come and go. I think it was the fact that I was using cheap plastic fittings that kept busting, but I am not sure. That’s okay though; it’s not like water is essential. And I couldn’t get the gas to the BBQ. Turns out one of the other guys was a gas fitter so he just looked under the van and there was a extra tap. So apart from the lights, gas and water – perfect.

Kids had a ball tubing

There were 2 boats there and the kids had the best time tubing. But we used useless sunscreen and they both got burnt to a crisp. (reapplied 3 times!) Timmy got the dreaded back of the knees burn. He was not happy.

I wasn’t scared

Had a thunder storm with hail on the Saturday night, but we survived without damage. Caravan is definitely more waterproof than a tent.
